A Microsoft Surface Pro (and all in one notebook and tablet) was released yesterday. The new all in one tablet and notebook features 13.5 hours of battery life. The integrated solid state hard drive (SSD) and a fanless design use 50% less power than the last version. Microsoft also updated the Surface Pro with new hinges that will not break and improved pen sensitivity that will respond to the tilt of the pen to make ink and shading more natural.
Later this year, the Microsoft Surface Pro will be available with LTE connectivity for the first time ever. It will support both eSIM and micro SIM. “I believe it will be the fastest adopted Pro we’ve ever shipped,” claims Microsoft’s Surface chief, Panos Panay, in an interview with The Verge. “There’s a reason for that, the brand is here and there’s people who have been waiting for it, and it turns out it’s just a kick-ass device.”
The new Microsoft Surface Pro is already available for preorder at a surprisingly low price of $799. This version doesn’t come with the pen, however. The pen will have to be purchased separately for $99. Shipping of the new devices will start on June 15.
